Paras Chopra on The PostAGI Banger episode Power Concentration, RSI, Future of Work, AI in India. One of the clearest thinkers I have had the privilege to interact with. His blog has this core principle: “know what’s true and do what’s right” - it struck such a resonance with me I could not stop thinking about it. It felt so proximate to what my own ideal in life is. Paras Chopra built Wingify, then started Lossfunk to work on harder research problems once the company-building work became repeatable. I went the other direction, leaving academia to build a company, which he brought up in the first few minutes. A big part of our conversation was about where intelligence ends up concentrating. Open models sit roughly six months behind the frontier today. But if frontier models begin training the next generation of models, there is no reason that gap stays fixed. “Countries that are rich, countries that have more GPUs, they make better intelligence. And that cycle just keeps on concentrating and the rest of the world simply just falls behind.” This is one reason I care so much about open innovation. As intelligence becomes a more important input into everything we build, who gets to participate in creating it matters enormously. Paras also makes the case that this technological wave is different because we are beginning to automate the work itself. That changes how quickly knowledge can compound, who can contribute, and how much is at stake if the frontier becomes closed.
