Those who went to St. Michael’s Academy would remember a teacher named Anitha Charles. She had the gift of taking hard, complex stories and making them simple. Because of that, she was easily the most loved and respected teacher of our time. Sowmiya Anbumani operates much like her in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, distilling serious subjects into clear, compelling stories. It is the kind of speaking that actually moves governments to act. To be fair, Dr ANBUMANI RAMADOSS laid this groundwork for years, speaking deeply on almost all the issues Sowmya raises today. Yet, it is Sowmya who has captured the public imagination. One must give credit to Anbumani for creating that space. In politics, men rarely step back to let a woman shine, out of fear of being eclipsed. By granting Sowmya the platform to make an impact, Anbumani has actually enhanced his own legacy. Ultimately, this also reveals a fascinating double standard in how we judge leaders. Society evaluates a man by who he is, his caste, background, and region form a filter that his words can rarely break through. A Brahmin man, for instance, could never have broken through those regional barriers to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. But with a woman, society is often willing to listen to what she says first. Jayalalithaa was an undeniable Brahmin, yet she was not confined to that label. Women possess a unique capacity to cross deep social divides, allowing a clear voice to transcend the rigid boxes society usually forces us into. Best wishes to both Dr ANBUMANI RAMADOSS and Sowmiya Anbumani

That Sekar Babu has still not been removed as District Secretary is appalling. Imagine if he had done this to Jayalalithaa; even if the vote margin had merely dropped, she would have been furious and torn him to pieces. Yet in DMK even after the defeat of its party leader M.K.Stalin this man is still hanging around. This reflects very poor leadership and MKS must act before more cadres and leaders begin to take advantage of him. Tolerating unearned immunity risks signaling to the cadre that failure carries no consequence, ultimately inviting systemic decay from within.

How can voters ever trust a political promise when the team they vote for can switch jerseys just when the match is about to start? I can’t believe Aadhav Arjuna actually said that. In this video he says “after an election is concluded, pre-poll partners can go whichever way they want.” If this isn't horse trading, what is? Imagine playing a soccer match where your own teammate switches to the opposing side the moment you are seen struggling. Selling out or switching to your Opponents the second the results are out isn't strategy; it's a total fraud on democracy.

The era of such respect, adulation, reverence, and love for elders is LOST. Whether it was SPB for Yesudas, Rajinikanth for Sivaji, Ilaiyaraaja for MSV, or even ARR for Ilaiyaraaja. That era has been replaced by slander and disrespect for elders, which is now considered “Gethu”.
