Rodger’s is a transition demon. There’s not many that eat up space as often as he does when on the ball. He will make our transitions so deadly with Palestra / Pep*( or Neto on the other side ). Alonso plays double wingers. A signing like Rogers was a dream for him because he CAN eat up space centrally and can also hold his own in LW spaces ( to give 1-2’s layoffs and interchange with winger + CF ). Look at 0:44, that’s how he should be used. Yes he can play LW but this is a 10 / 8. An attacking one. Not an attacker.

DM / CB / CCB / RCB Alonso wants specialists that can operate from different zones of the pitch ( like Luis Enrique ) Stones gives you 4 qualities - never loses the ball - fast punching passes from CB / DM - manipulation of blocks and presses ( setting up plays ) - duelling ( aerial beast and ground elite ) And I haven’t mentioned the leadership and overall dressing room impact.
