RPO/RSO IN THE AIR RAID OFFENSE #1 Stick Draw Simple concept out of 3x1. QB catches ball and turns hips towards the stick route. If PS LB sits/works down, we throw the stick. If he works out, QB turns back to RB (who is watching QB's shoulder peripherally) and hand it off.

Forcing an outside release by the Dig runner is arguably the most important coaching point in the Shallow concept. - Gives the QB a clear read on whether it's Man/Zone - Keeps the LB's eyes away from the Shallow runner - Widens out the Dig away from the Mike in Zone #AirRaid

The biggest mistake I see on the #airraid Mesh is in the teaching of progression. Many read it: Z-Mesh-Flat. We read it: Z-Flat-Mesh. The free release Swing puts the Sam in a bind. If he flies down, throw to the Z. If he stalls, throw the Swing. If he widens, throw the Mesh.

Don't be afraid to take shots when backed up! There's never more open grass than when the ball is on your own 1-yard line. Don't panic, QB sneak, and waste a down. Have a few plays you practice all year so your players are comfortable and confident in the call. Be fearless!
