Stanford researchers gathered on Monday morning to celebrate the release of the first images from the Vera C. Rubin Observatory, which bring the night sky to life like never before. The digital camera at the heart of the telescope, designed and built at the Stanford-run SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, will facilitate a 10-year mission to explore and understand some of the universe’s biggest mysteries.
