IHOP-KC video megathread 🧵 1/25 On Monday Feb 4th, 2013, Blaise Foret , myself and a friend, were summoned to Mike’s office to meet with Stuart Greaves and (to our surprise) Dave Sliker. After several hours, we were ordered to stop questioning IHOP’s theology, eschatology and prophetic history, or we would be banned from the Missions Base and everyone would be publicly warned about us. Truth is, everyone was already being “privately” warned about us, because Blaise and our friend were challenging people’s views on biblical “Grace” and I was challenging the validity of IHOP-KC’s Prophetic History… In March, 2013, Mike gave a message on “Grace” with a special Q&A time afterwards for the community to share concerns or ask questions on the topics we were triggering. A number of people were leaving IHOP (helped by us) so they were in damage control mode. Then, in August, 2013, Mike held a private but staff-wide meeting, where he spoke about how God orchestrated divine experiences and events to start IHOP-KC - making it very clear IHOP-KC was not started by human desire or design, but by Divine Will and Authority. At the end, Mike calls Allen Hood to come on stage to validate Mike’s message and deliver the knockout punch. The message to me and many others was clear: If you abandon IHOP-KC, you abandon God. IHOP-KC video megathread 🧵 1/13 On Monday March 24th, 2008, Mike Bickle held a private, but staff-wide meeting that I attended. He had just returned from a trip, and was excited to share a supernatural experience he had the previous weekend while he was in San Francisco with Lou Engle. Mike said that while he was in California, (protesting Proposition 8 which would be voted on later that year) God spoke to him. “God said” that He would “Give the Grace of Immunity” and a special “Amnesty” to IHOP-KC, erasing our past sins, failures and wrongs in a special way and give us “a fresh start.”. Mike then led the IHOP-KC staff “family” in vows, making a 7 Part Covenant to God. This included vowing we would “resist immorality”, and that we would “confess our sins to each another.” Finally, Mike then led a prayer, in which we asked Jesus Christ to “release The Sword of the Lord” “in our midsts for judgment.” The following Sunday March 30th, he preached this message to the wider community (and online following) using his recent “message from God” as the premise. #ihopkc #mikebickle #churchtoo #cult
