Starters Orders 8 (PC). Ride on I AM MAXIMUS in the Grand National! Jockey difficulty over fences has now been tweaked to be a little more friendly. Optimisations this week have also resulted in a frame-rate increase that should negate the increase in racecourse detail (with SO8) meaning the minimum spec PC should remain similar to SO7. Tests on a Intel I5 10400 PC (using the integrated UHD 630 graphics) - which is below minimum spec, resulted in a acceptable frame-rate of above 40fps for the Grand National (low settings) which is better than SO7 (with less detailed racecourses). #StartersOrders #GrandNational

A bit of fun. Simulation of the coming King Gorge VI chase at Kempton but with Desert Orchid and Cue Card thrown in to the mix. Taking the reins on the famous grey I expected to romp in but missed the break, hit the first and then messed up the finish! Skip to the end.

The new Starters Orders 8 menu's are a big change from Starters Orders 7 but make the process of finding and entering your horse into a race much easier and also add useful filter options. The race list can be filtered by a specific horse and by any of the filters on the right. A range filter has been included so we can filter races by a certain distance/range. Holding shift will imminently pick up a horse so it can be quickly dropped onto the correct race. In this example the jockey booking screen has been turned off speeding up the process further.

The UK does cool and quirky racecourses like nowhere else so driving home from the lakes we decided to drop in and wander around Cartmel racecourse (they were getting ready for a meeting tomorrow). Starters Orders 8. #StartersOrders8
