"When I fly over the Cattle Corridor and see the nice, well-fenced, bush-cleared farms of dairy and beef cattle in the previous Iruungu (wilderness) of that zone of our Country; over the Masaka — Rakai — Ssembabule area with the Coffee gardens in may be 60% of the homes; over Kalangala with the Palm-trees for oil; over the Teso area with the Citrus gardens; over the Bundibugyo and Mukono areas with the Cocoa and Coffee gardens; over the Bushenyi — Isingiro areas with the banana gardens; over the Zombo areas with the Arabica Coffee; over the Bugisu areas with Arabica Coffee; etc etc; you realize that our efforts have not been in vain and anybody who downplays these achievements, is an enemy of Uganda. This is even before you talk about the huge sugar-cane plantations in Busoga and Bunyoro; the Palm oil plantations in Maruzi, Lango; the sugar-cane plantations in the Luwero — Nakaseke areas or the Kayunga areas. Have you seen the magnificent tea Estates in the Tooro, Ankole and Kigyezi areas? With tea, there is the temporary problem of low prices. However, the People in the tea sector, have assured me that the price is only affected by the failure to use fertilizers and bad picking methods."-- President Yoweri K Museveni.

While presiding over the graduation of NDC- U Course 04/2025–26, the Commander-in-Chief also pledged Shs50 billion towards the expansion and modernisation of the National Defence College- Uganda to enhance professional military education.

State House has commenced the induction of 36 newly recruited Farm Managers and Finance Officers who will oversee agricultural enterprises at the Presidential Industrial Skilling Hubs and supervise over 170 SACCOs established to support programme graduates. The officers are undergoing a week-long training at the Oliver Reginald Tambo Leadership School in Kaweweta in leadership, patriotism, political economy and mindset transformation ahead of their deployment. The 19 Presidential Industrial Skilling Hubs are being transformed into centres of production and wealth creation through value addition projects, including a paper processing plant in Mbarara and a grain milling facility in Masindi. The newly recruited officers will also oversee the Shs50 million revolving funds injected by President Yoweri K Museveni into graduates' SACCOs and support efforts to strengthen accountability, sustainability and job creation under the Presidential Presidential Industrial Hubs programme.

This followed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and operational licence agreement between UCC and Starlink by Hon. Nyombi Thembo and Mr. Ryan Goodnight, Senior Director for Market Access and Development at SpaceX. Also present were the United States of America Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. William Popp, and the Permanent Secretary at Ministry of ICT&NG, Dr. Aminah Zawedde.

Nearly 50 years after the ordeal, the visit included a tour of the old airport terminal and reflections on the legacy of the Entebbe incident, Uganda's transformation over the years, and opportunities for stronger cooperation between Uganda, Israel and Europe.
