Japan is prepared to take an extremely large oil short position, about a 127-fold increase of the largest oil short position ever seen. Japan’s Ministry of Finance made some preliminary statements in support of oil shorting. On May 1, Atsushi Mimura, Vice Finance Minister for International Affairs, stated Japan “is very likely to” intervene in the crude oil futures market. There has been a deafening silence since. There is no confirmed position, no disclosed size, no line item anywhere. There is no record of the Ministry of Finance's currency interventions and no similar series for commodities, and the CFTC does not identify a trader as a sovereign. We cannot see Japan shorting oil, so it is likely they have shorted it. They could have.

RUG PULL -3% FRIDAY OPEX OR MONDAY POST-OPEX - GOOD BYE BULLS? BEARS IT'S TIME TO AWAKEN! Per-option premiums on the S&P 500 / $SPY are screaming “rug pull” into Friday OPEX or Monday open. My setup looks something like this: 1. We push into 7500–7525 first, then the market starts selling HARD. 2. Friday OPEX or Monday post-OPEX turns into that classic “random” -3% flush nobody saw coming. 3. And the main sponsor of the sell-off? Probably $SOXX, $NVDA and $INTC ! Semis have been carrying this market for a while. If they crack, the whole tape could unravel fast.

As we’ve had yet another “peace agreement” per Pakistan, I spent an hour researching and counting how many times Pakistan has announced peace talks between Iran and the U.S. since March 1. So far, they can’t compete with Axios - but 30 is still a good number.
