No story, just one of my favourite easy walks in Angus. Near to Edzell, you'll find the Blue Door Walk, an undulating stroll through the trees alongside the River North Esk. For me, it's the perfect walk to blow away the cobwebs and stretch the legs on a crisp, cold winters day!

This is probably the oldest standing church in Scotland - St Fillans in Aberdour on the southern Fife coast. The oldest section dates back to 1123, although as you can imagine for something that's been in use for 900 years, it was extended a couple of times!

On this day in 1746, Bonnie Prince Charlie left Scotland after the 1745 Jacobite Rising, never to return. This simple monument overlooking Loch nan Uamh is the Prince's Cairn and as the inscription explains, marks the traditional spot where Prince Charles Edward Stuart boarded

In June 1836, a group of young boys hunting rabbits on the slopes of Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh found more than they had bargained for. Hidden in a little crevice, they discovered 17 miniature coffins laid out in three rows. Inside each one lay a carved figurine

Dunvegan Castle on the Isle of Skye is the historic seat of Clan Macleod and a secure location for their most valuable treasure. It might just look like a faded, battered bit of cloth but this is the famous Fairy Flag and the following is one of the stories of how it came to be.
