the unknown in this world is actually so very scary. again, every month+when having a new sex partner, i always get tested and make any new partners do the same. the fact there’s no telling how long i’ve had “MGEN” for pisses me off, since i so regularly go for “ALL testing”, and complained about having abdominal pain+excessive UTI’s for so long. for context, MGEN is a sort of STI, a bacterial infection that takes place in your urinary tract, that only landed in the STI category in the past decade, bc although very different than others, it can still only be transmitted sexually. and now i really have to backtrack all of my previous partners to let them know i have some mysterious STI that no one, including doctors, seems to know about in canada. i’m curious as to how i would’ve ever got treatment when i had no clue what MGEN is and neither did my doctors, sending me home with random diagnosis’ i didn’t have. what’s weird though, is that even though transmitting through just oral is still in question, i had bare unprotected sex with my best friend/costar, and he tested negative?? this entire situation frustrates me so much, and the fact my doctor looked at me and asked ME what MGEN was, trying to figure out if they even provide testing+treatment here in canada, is fucking CRAZY! • please, get tested. take it seriously, for it is so very serious. now i’m out here informing my fellow canadians to specifically ask for MGEN testing, since its categorized completely separate and isn’t included in basic testing. i still don’t understand this since its been almost a decade since its been considered an STI, so why wouldn’t it be included in all STD+STI testing? bs. • in a summary, MGEN is something not being talked about enough and too many people lack education on it. because it’s only been labelled as an STI relatively recently, canadian doctors don’t seem to even know what it is, let alone how to help you. if you are suffering with any of these symptoms; •𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐓𝐈’𝐬 •𝐚𝐛𝐝𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧 •𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠/𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐱 •𝐨𝐝𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 •𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬 •etc, GET TESTED! #mgen #sti #stitesting #sexhealth
