Dr Tamer Morris, international law senior lecturer, Sydney University on ABC News just now "So when one state violates the use of force ... the legal obligation of every state is to ensure to stop that & not to support it. So for the Australian government to come out in support, & I must say was the first government to actively support this, is a violation of Australia's obligations under the use of force." "Before you give your support, you must see or must consider whether it's legal or illegal. And so the comment we received from Minister Wong is we don't care about international law, we're going to support whether it's illegal or legal, and that's very problematic for Australia ... If anyone attacks us illegally we don't have a foot to stand on to say well that's an illegal act, because we have supported an illegal act."

just now on ABC News - UN Special Rapporteur Prof Ben Saul - UN SR Human Rights & Counterterror "It's crystal clear that these are illegal attacks on Iran by the US and Israel. They amount to the international crime of aggression ... This is one of the clearest violations of the most fundamental rule of the post-World War order since 1945, which is not to aggressively attack other countries" "All countries who genuinely care for a rules-based international order, which Australia says it supports, really need to stand up and protest this kind of lawlessness. It's not just about breaking international law, this also makes the whole world less safe"

from Coalition for the Protection of Greyhounds "Shocking new footage reveals the hidden reality behind greyhound racing in Queensland. Her name was Tarawi Minnie. She deserved a loving home, but instead, undercover footage captured her being dragged into a vet clinic, only to end up dead in a freezer hours later. She is just one of 216 greyhounds who were killed in Queensland in 2024 due to being deemed ‘unrehomable’. By comparison, the largest racing state, NSW, had 17 dogs killed in that category. The QLD racing industry wants you to look away, but we’re standing up" #bangreyhoundracing

important interview with Louise Adler on #abc730 "I wonder where his [Premier Malinauskas] compassion and humanity and sensitivity was to Dr Randa Abdel-Fattah. And the fact that her work as a Palestinian writer, academic, esteemed award-winning writer, and the history that she carries with her, and the recent events where 70,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza. Where is the shared humanity and the understanding and compassion for Dr Randa Abdel-Fattah?" Watch the full interview:

#deadgreyhoundsaus *** warning distressing images & sound *** Sandown Victoria tonight - in the "We Stand With Tasmania" race - another beautiful greyhound was killed by this cruel industry. Two year old Paw Otis suffered a right radius/ulna fracture & was "euthanised". A staff member runs on to the track & picks up the seriously injured greyhound. On whose advice would someone pick up a distressed dog with broken bones like that? Clearly the race is the priority, the $$$$, not the greyhound who was crying out in pain. The footage below shows Paw Otis just before the race, then the fall, then the "collection". In the last part he can be heard crying out in pain. Rest in Peace 🤍 Born: 26 May 2024 Dead: 29 August 2026 Sandown Victoria #bangreyhoundracing Replay and report with link to racing history:

"they know that if these gruesome images were made public, the industry would collapse. These injuries are not rare accidents, they are inherent to the very design of greyhound racing" Former GRNSW chief vet Dr Alex Brittan at yesterday's Tasmania greyhound racing transition committee hearing: 'These are not normal domestic pet injuries. These are not sprained ankles from playing fetch in the park. These are high impact devastating kinetic traumas, second only to hit by car injuries in severity. These are the most extreme injuries experienced by dogs." "As chief veterinary officer I didn't hide in an administrative office, I regularly attended race meetings & worked directly beside the on-track veterinarians. I was witness to the worst injuries that I have ever seen in 30 years as a vet." "A dog sliced in half by a broken cable of a mechanical lure. Twisted lung lobes, twisted bowels, torn kidneys, shattered skulls from colliding with steel posts, and fractured legs that dogs continue to run on crossing the line with flapping broken bones." "There was a dog with bilateral fractures that suffered such catastrophic blood loss that even a seasoned track manager of 10 years vomited on the track." "The videos of these injuries are tightly siloed and hidden by the industry. They are strictly barred from public viewing because they are so completely damning."
