Went to observe the ‘Stop The Boats’ protest in Brighton today, along with the ‘Carnival Against Fascism’ counter-protest held in response. For a so-called “peaceful” anti-fascism march, police had to remove scaffolding poles many people in the crowd had armed themselves with. Then Raise The Colours arrived. What followed was utter carnage, (this 5 minute clip edited down from around over 30 minutes). At times, one officer (CP21) appeared to be almost single-handedly holding back the baying mob, as the huge police presence had been positioned elsewhere. Our peaceful vigil for Oct 7 hostages was attacked today. A youngster and his mother tried to snatch our flag - then the youngster punched one of members in the stomach and face, totally unprovoked. When he was restrained, his mother shouted “that’s unacceptable he’s only 15”!
