Today I$rael tried to kill me in a targeted airstrike in southern Lebanon as I was reporting on was the targeting of bridges and the forced displacement of 1 million people, an ethnic cleansing operation on a larger scale than the Nakba I have absolutely no doubt that this was deliberate. Despite claims there were no warnings ahead of the strike and no notifications sent to the Lebanese Army who allowed us to film As we have seen in Gaza they want to silence journalists who document and report their war crimes It is the western powers who provide political and military support for I$rael, arming it to the teeth to carry out genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing here in Lebanon. They are not simply complicit, but active participants and should be held accountable for their actions. But if I$rael thinks today’s strike will silence us and keep us out of the field they are very, very mistaken

The BBC is at it again. Dahiye is not simply “where Hezb0llah is based.” It is home to 500,000–800,000 people. It’s where families live, where friends meet in cafés and restaurants, where people work, shop, study, and build their lives. The choice of language is deliberate, dehumanising an entire community to justify I$raeli attacks on civilians. Shameful

Intense fighting continues in Khiam, fighter jets were pounding the area as we filmed. But despite claims that it’s going to “walk in”’and occupy the south of Lebanon it’s facing fierce resistance and it could be that Khiam becomes the graveyard for the I$raeli forces. Full report to follow…

Today I visited the Sahel hospital in southern Beirut the morning after Israel claimed - without evidence - that hundreds of billions of dollars in gold and cash were stored in the basement and used to fund Hezbollah. I had unrestricted access to all areas, including the basement and all I found were the normal things found in any hospital, in any country across the world. The hospital director believes it will be bombed by Israel, repeating a pattern seen in Gaza, with attempts to link the hospital to Hezbollah a smokescreen to justify an attack. We had to leave the hospital with drones flying overhead with the potential for Israel to strike at any moment. Lebanon’s health ministry has called on the international community to speak out and break its silence on Israel’s war crimes with around 150 health workers killed in Israeli attacks. At least four people including a child were killed as Israel bombed the vicinity of the Rafik Hariri Hospital on Monday night while 14 people were killed in Jnah, wiping out two families. With a ceasefire seemingly out of reach, Israel’s bombing continues with no end in sight.

The names of the 90 men and boys killed by the nascent I$raeli Defence Force in the October 1948 Houla massacre in southern Lebanon are etched into stone at this memorial. In 2024 it was desecrated, damaged and daubed with the words “the only good Shiite is a dead Shiite”. Houla is once again on the frontline. One of the many towns and villages razed to the ground by I$rael under the so-called Gaza model. This is about dehumanising the very people the land belongs to, as I$rael stands accused of an ethnic cleansing operation larger even than the Nakba under the guise of “security” Filmed in July 2025

Huge thanks to the incredible medical team at Jabal Amel Hospital in Tyre for patching me up after yesterday’s I$raeli airstrike. Paramedics, doctors, nurses and support staff here are true heroes — working under relentless pressure, with more than 30 emergency workers killed by I$rael since March 2. Even after the hospital itself was badly damaged in a recent strike, they refuse to abandon their patients and courageously remain in the field.

Lebanon faces an ethnic cleansing operation on a larger scale than the Nakba, with some 1 million forcibly displaced from the south. Just minutes ago i$rael issued an order to all civilians south of the Zahrani river to leave amid rumours of an impending large scale ground invasion But the I$raeli’s face fierce resistance with a record 64 operations on Sunday targeting groups of soldiers and military installations.

On June 2, 2014 Ukrainian fighter jets carried out airstrikes on the Lugansk Regional State Building killing 8 and wounding at least 28 others. It came just a month after the Trade Union House massacre in Odessa in which at least 48 people were killed. The West likes to forget, but we will remember.

The south of Lebanon is not a “war zone.” Dahiye is not a “Hezbollah stronghold.” These are the places people live. The cafés and restaurants where friends meet. The shops people rely on. Homes, schools, businesses, neighbourhoods full of life. But as we see here, much of the media describes them in military terms, erasing the people who live there. Calling entire communities “Hezbollah strongholds dehumanises civilians and turns vibrant neighbourhoods into acceptable targets in the public mind. This language is not neutral. It helps manufacture consent for the bombing of civilian areas by presenting them as little more than extensions of a “militant” group, rather than places where hundreds of thousands of ordinary people live their lives. When the people are excluded from the story, the bombings become easier to justify.

Froun, in southern Lebanon, lies just south of the Litani River, well outside Israel’s so-called “Security Zone”. It is one of two “pilot zones” under the trilateral framework agreement between Israel, Lebanon and the US, where Israeli troops are to withdraw and be replaced by the Lebanese Army. But Froun has never been occupied by Israel, and the Lebanese Army already has full access. Today we spoke to the mayor and residents, who were left perplexed by the announcement. Reporting from the ground in Sidon after a drone strike in the early hours of Wednesday killed two people — including an emergency worker. Three residential buildings were also hit across the port city as the bombardment widened. At the same time, strikes pounded the Lebanese capital Beirut, where a 15-storey building collapsed with at least 12 people reportedly killed.
