One more Alawite girl gets kidnapped, one more mother begs for her safe return.. Aya Ayman Ismail, a chemical engineering student at Homs University from Sheikh Badr, was kidnapped near the university dormitory in Homs, and contact with her was lost. The kidnappers contacted Aya’s mother, demanding a ransom of $15,000. Aya’s mother reported the kidnapping to the "General Security" office in Sheikh Badr. She was instructed to return the following morning. When she did, the authorities informed her they could not assist and directed her to file a report in Homs, where the kidnapping occurred. In Homs, the mother reported the incident to the "General Security" office and was told to wait while they conducted an investigation. Additionally, the mother inquired about her daughter at the university dormitory, asking everyone she encountered if they had any information about Aya’s whereabouts. Aya, a member of the Alawite sect, had recently started wearing a hijab due to the increasing prevalence of extremism and terrorism in the area.

The mother of 15-year-old Lana Ahmad, who was kidnapped on March 25, 2025, from the Al-Awqaf Project in Latakia, appeared in a video pleading for her daughter's return. She stated that the kidnapper is communicating with them, sending videos and photos showing the girl being beaten and tortured, and has demanded a ransom for her release.
