The record MUST be set straight! This is a rant about foreign fighters in #Syria. There are many Syrians and non-Syrians who are not aware of the Uyghurs. Their land (Eastern Turkestan) was occupied by #China a year after #Israel occupied Palestine (1949). They have gone through worse oppression and misery than both Syrians and Palestinians combined. When I was a child, I read a book written by my relative named "Nights of Turkistan" by Najeeb ElKilany. This was my first exposure to the Uyghurs and their struggle/cause. My second exposure was when the Syrian revolution started in 2011, I witnessed many of them migrate to #Syria in order to help the rebels liberate #Syria. They are extremely strong fighters, and unbelievably selfless and sacrificial. Movies can be made about them, and it wouldn't do them justice. It would be beyond disgraceful and hypocritical and nasty of us Syrians if we did not thank the Uyghurs and reward them with Syrian citizenships and compensation for helping liberate us from the #Assad regime. They were always at the frontlines of all the major battles. So many of them became martyrs. Here is a video of the new Syrian government officials kissing the foreheads of Uyghur fighters. Us Syrians who have principles love our Uyghur brothers along with any other foreigner who came and helped us: Chechen, Albanian, Egyptian, Jordanian, Turkish, Maldivian, etc.

Sahih al-Bukhari (Book 78, Hadith 73): Narrated Abu Bakra: A man was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet (s), and another man praised him greatly. The Prophet (s) said: “Woe to you! You have cut your companion’s neck,” repeating it several times. “If one of you must praise, let him say: ‘I think so-and-so is such and such,’ if he truly thinks that, and ‘Allah is his Reckoner,’ and do not ascribe purity to anyone before Allah.” (Bukhari 6061) 3.
