🇵🇹 Portuguese rugby still basking in its moment this week (makes you wonder how crazy would they go if they actually won the World Cup?!) going on popular TV/radio shows etc. Here is Pedro Bettencourt, Nuno Sousa Guedes, & João Belo given an adoring reception at some kids club.

For those wondering Jean-Yves Zebago still does his trademark slam dunk try celebration every time he scores for 🇧🇫 Burkina Faso. Here he was in the recent Rugby Africa 7s competition. Still find it remarkable he can consistently slam the ball down like this without dropping it.

Eddie Jones: "You don't recruit at international level". Erm .... actually certain teams very much do recruit at international level.

To celebrate his try vs 🇦🇺 Australia being nominated for World Rugby try of the year 🇬🇪 Georgia wing Akaki Tabutsadze scored another very similar one today vs 🇹🇴 Tonga (albeit merely from 80 rather than 100 metres out this time). His 41st try in 44 caps.

Former 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England back row James Haskell: "if I had an option to watch an NRL or State of Origin or a Union game I'd probably choose NRL at the moment". If he really feels this way about the sport then why doesn't he just go and watch and comment on Super League instead?

Stephen Donald "expert" analysis on the 🇫🇷 France team: "I still couldn't tell you the names of them". In 🇳🇿 New Zealand rugby is the #1 sport, their players & coaches travel the world, yet still have a parochial rugby culture that is utterly ill informed about the global game.

Remember when 19 y/o 🇬🇪 Niniashvili dumped 🇿🇦 Etzebeth backwards then got up and easily stopped 🇿🇦 Kolbe. Etzebeth then cheap shotted him with charge to back of the head forcing him off concussed. Lost respect for Etzebeth for that scumbag play. Ought to have been straight red.

New 🇰🇷 South Korean Netflix series "Rugged Rugby: Conquer or Die" features 8 vs 8 scrum battle contest between each team (best of 3 with the defensive scrum winning if it holds out for 20 seconds)!

"Rugby must be more open" Reposting this interview clip from 2022 with Georgia captain Merab Sharikadze. Everything he says is spot on. As mentioned before the sport desperately needs more people who share these principles in its leadership.

Check out these highlights of France U20 vs NZ U20 from yesterday. 5 of first 6 tries of the game are a non-contested 5m lineout followed by a maul shielding a front rower at the back. This is anti the Union principle of a contest of possession and COMPLETE TACTICAL MONOTONY.

Eddie Jones says obvious reality about why 🇯🇵 Japan has to give up a home game vs 🇮🇪 Ireland to play at a neutral venue of Newcastle. Tier 1 Unions are selfish and run the sport in an incredibly biased way towards themselves and don't care about sporting values like fairness.

🧵 FLASHBACK THREAD: three of biggest low IQ plays from the career of Donncha O'Callaghan. Who else remembers when O'Callaghan greedily butchered a 4 vs 1 overlap for Lions vs New Zealand in 2005? One of worst butcherings of an overlap ever seen in many years watching rugby.

Got to laugh at Tindall here criticising Prem for "a half empty stadium" and for a game being "not a great game of rugby". Guarantee the R360 plan would have plenty of "half empty stadiums", in no sport is every game a classic, and "spunking" money is exactly what R360 is doing.

Flashback: Sky Sports Rugby Club analyses London Welsh's first Premiership win of the 2012/13 season. On a low budget with a rag tag squad in a league biased against them they won 5 games that season and 7 losing bonus pts. They didn't stay up but it was a great underdog effort.
