That Guehi shift at centre-back was a brutal one. Olmo is possibly one of the worst players you can potentially man-mark in that position. Dragged him everywhere. So many decisions to make as the centre-back who always stepped out.

There are flaws in Alonso's system that he needs to iron out quickly. Same problems appearing in successive games leave a cause for concern. Chelsea must address their in-and-out-of-possession phases of play. The only part working, and it's working well, is attacking transition. Full class in the article below.

Where my frustration lies with Arsenal. Arteta has so much right. These moments are the difference though. They break line one, break line two and then slow the tempo.

Chelsea's 1-5-2-3 leaves the midfielders a lot of ground to cover, as the defenders' jumping is still a work in progress. That front three (backed by Neto) is deadly, though.

Maresca's style focuses a lot on playing through. Jackson doesn't offer the same link-up play capability as Delap. These scenarios will allow for Delap to join the central build-up, and the wide players need to provide the beyond option.

The Hull compact 1-5-2-3. Really impressive shape with clear roles and responsibilities. Looking to force play inside and win the ball.
