Shane Steichen failed Anthony Richardson Oct 27, 2024. Of course AR failed AR.. But let’s dive in.. AR chucks a 300lb DT off his back, survives a collapse, runs for 15 yards and gets tackled at the knee caps fighting for every inch. AR makes a pivotal mistake. “Taps out” All Shane had to do was say Anthony felt something in his knee, protect his QB, anything. A good coach in the moment recognizes that if it’s a massive deal. It was 3rd and 23. Protect him. He fucked up, but recognize the situation. You got a 21 year old, who the world has said “he barely has played any football” Protect him. Shane flops, doesn’t prepare anyone. AR has never gotten a real second chance. Ever. A coach is supposed to protect his players. Especially the QB. Prep for the heat. You are a coach in the National Football League. The Greatest League in the World. It would have blown over if you said it was an injury precaution and you teach him afterwards, and nothing would have happened. Don’t get me Wrong, it is 100% Richardson’s fault. But Shane Steichen has failed Richardson every step of the way, and never been man enough to admit it .
