At Texas A&M University, we serve with purpose, lead with character and take action for the good of our communities. This is what it means to be an Aggie: to believe that what we can do together is far greater than what any one of us can do alone. For 150 years, Aggies have embodied that belief for Texas and for America. Together, we stand. Together, we serve. Together, we are a force for good. Learn more:

Decades ago, a Texas A&M former student helped pioneer the sterile insect technique — a breakthrough that eliminated the screwworm from U.S. soil. Now, as the pest reemerges, Aggies are leading the response through cutting-edge research and coordinated national teams dedicated to safeguarding what they helped build. Hayden Schott ’25 spoke with Dr. Sonja Swiger at Texas A&M AgriLife to learn how this legacy of protection continues to shape the future of agriculture. Learn more:

Former President George H.W. Bush chose Texas A&M as the home of his presidential library, creating a connection to Aggieland that continues today. The library grounds at Texas A&M are home to the 4141, a Union Pacific locomotive that carried President Bush to his final resting place and now stands as a symbol of his life of service, continuing to inspire Aggies, visitors and schoolchildren who experience his legacy at the museum. Hayden Schott '25 visits with Alice Yates '99, Chief Executive Officer of the George & Barbara Bush Foundation, to learn about that legacy. Learn more:

Before he was president, George H.W. Bush was among the nation’s youngest naval aviators during World War II, risking his life in service to his country. He held a deep respect for the values embodied by TAMU Corps of Cadets, recognizing a shared commitment to service, humility, duty and character. The Corps, in turn, inducted him into its Hall of Honor, a rare distinction for someone who did not serve as a Corps member. Hayden Schott ’25 met with Texas A&M Corps of Cadets Commandant Chip Bierman to discuss that lasting connection. Learn more:

Former President George H.W. Bush never missed a chance to attend an Aggie sporting event. He kept an apartment on the Texas A&M campus and was a familiar face at Blue Bell Park, whether throwing out a ceremonial first pitch or cheering from the stands alongside former First Lady Barbara Bush. Bush brought the same enthusiasm to Aggie athletics that he brought to every aspect of his life. A Yale first baseman who made Texas A&M home, Bush shares a connection with Hayden Schott '25, an Ivy League ballplayer turned Aggie who knows exactly what it feels like to find where you belong. Hayden met with Will Johnson ‘82, host and producer of 12th Man Productions, to discuss how Aggie baseball still pays tribute to Bush 41 today. Learn more:

Stress and burnout are not the same thing, and treating them as if they are is why many people struggle with symptoms such as emotional exhaustion. Things that help manage stress — a good workout, a vacation, time with family, meditation — don't work the same with burnout. The remedies that work for stress barely scratch the surface for burnout. Dr. Stephen Courtright from Mays Business School says to fix burnout, both individuals and organizations have to fundamentally change the way work gets done. Learn more:
