A WORLD FIRST! The world’s only running Tiger tank, running in the Tank Museum arena alongside the world’s only running King Tiger. A proud collaboration between The Tank Museum, World of Tanks, &amp; the Museedesblindes - bringing this remarkable sight to the crowds at TANKFEST 2025!

💥How to fire FV4005💥 The FV4005’s 183mm calibre L4A1 is the biggest gun ever fitted to a tank. The gun was very effective when it hit the target, but FV4005 could only carry 12 rounds, and needed two loaders for the 97kg, 144cm long ammunition.

In August 1944, The Coldstream Guards captured a Panther in Holland. Painted with white Allied recognition stars &amp; named ‘Cuckoo’, the tank was used against its’ former owners. Footage courtesy of British Pathé 🔗See inside a Panther tank for yourself:

The Tank Museum has two First World War tank replicas, one of the German A7V, and one of the British Mark IV. Whilst we don’t run our First World War collection anymore (due to fragility), these replicas do a great job of representing the real thing.

This is the Praying Mantis, a bizarre and unique British prototype from WWII. The vehicle was difficult to control, and induced sickness in the crew(!) - the plan was therefore abandoned in 1944. The sole surviving example is part of our collection, here at The Tank Museum.

The 'Black Sea' Stug. Sunk on a German ship off the coast of Sevastopol, and recovered in the early 2000's - this vehicle was immaculately restored by The The Weald Foundation , &amp; made its running debut at TANKFEST 2009. TANKFEST 2026 tickets now available!

This is the only of very few running Type 95 Ha-Go's left in the world, and the only one that has come to the UK. It is in private ownership, and after several years in the UK it has now returned to Japan. 🔗 Learn about The Museum’s Type 95 Ha-Go here:

🗓️ 5 May 1917: The St-Chamond tank makes its combat debut in an attack at the Moulin de Laffaux. It mounted a 75mm howitzer in the nose plus 4 machine guns. Shown is the sole surviving example - part of the Musée des Blindés collection - which visited us for TANKFEST 2017

Captured in April 1945, a King Tiger undergoes wading trials at the Haustenbeck testing ground. In Aug 1947, it was on the receiving end of some rather large 6.5" HESH trials - it likely the tank did not survive these... For more on the King Tiger -
