For those that didn’t play sports but were still popping all the cheerleaders and whom tried being average but it just wasn’t for them. Spring 2009, year one of the Obama days, CHUCK INGLISH said it. & Mikey Rocks dropped “Gone Fishing”, their second project as THE COOL KIDS, with Don Cannon™, produced by Chuck and JP. “Gone Fishing” has that energy of lunch table freestyles with the homies but supercharged with the songwriting expertise of two artists on a mission. It feels like warm weather and fly fits. “Hammer Bros”, “Pennies”, and “Popcorn” are the obvious stand-out tracks with their infectious hooks, fire verses & production that sticks to your brain like gum to a desk, but I want to highlight “Broadcasting Live”. It blends a perfect balance of that table-top banging energy and an electronic influence, with verses that both impress and inspire. As streaming continues to evolve, we are losing recipes.
