When you break down their mechanics, one number jumps out: they both get into footstrike in 1.05 seconds or less. ⚡️ Why does that matter? Timing into footstrike is one of the simplest, most powerful tells in a delivery. The faster you get your front foot down, the less time your body has to add unnecessary movement. Slow deliveries leave room for energy leaks. Every extra beat is another chance for your mechanics to fall out of sync. This is especially true for younger pitchers who are less coordinated and newer to throwing. When you move fast and with intent, you cut out wasted motion and let athleticism take over. This is why "move fast" is the simplest cue you can give a pitcher at every level. Simplify the movement, stay on time and let the velocity show up on its own.
