Nebraska Task Force One—our interagency Urban Search and Rescue Team—has deployed to Arkansas in support of the federal and local response to the storms that have swept across the southern US. Neighbors help neighbors in Nebraska, and we stand ready to help our fellow states.

With hundreds of cheerful Nebraskans in attendance, today we lit the Capitol Christmas Tree and welcomed families into the Governor’s Residence for the annual Hometown Christmas festival. Sadly, both events were disrupted by a small but loud group of radical “Justice for Palestine” protestors. I am grateful for the State Patrol, Lincoln Police, and Capitol Security personnel who maintained order and provided security for the parents and children who came for a joyful day. Faith, hope, and Christ’s love prevailed over the anger and vitriol spewed by the protestors, and it always will throughout the Christmas season.

Israel is America’s most important ally — and we are working hard to grow our relationship and support her people. Following the historic peace deal reached by President Donald J. Trump, I’m proud to announce that I will be leading a trade mission next week to Israel to further strengthen our bond and expand Nebraska’s business opportunities. I’m grateful to Elad Strohmayer (Elad Strohmayer), Israel’s new Consul General to the Midwest, for making his first visit to Nebraska and for his work to build ties between our peoples. 🇺🇸🇮🇱

Taxpayer money will no longer help fund abortions in Nebraska. We stand proudly as a pro-life state — and the Executive Order I signed today is a huge pro-life victory. In Nebraska, we’re about building a culture of life and love. We recognize the sanctity of life and the importance of protecting the unborn and supporting moms. Fact is: Even one cent of taxpayer money going to abortion providers, like Planned Parenthood, is one cent too many.

School choice is a game-changer for Nebraska students and families. Today, I signed an Executive Order indicating Nebraska’s intent to opt-into the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit, which was signed into law by President Donald J. Trump as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill. When it comes to educating our kids, we need to ensure that every student is in an environment that allows them to succeed. This program will provide that opportunity and pave the way for new school choice opportunities beginning in 2027.

This week we held an extraordinary bill signing, as I signed Senator Kauth’s Stand With Women Act to ban men from women’s sports in Nebraska. While such legislation shouldn’t even be needed, it sadly is in a culture where commonsense has become uncommon. As I brought these protections into law, I was humbled to join some truly courageous women athletes: Riley Gaines Payton McNabb Jordyn Frahm & Rebekah. They are defying the critics who would, for the sake of wokeness, undermine all that has been gained for female athletics, and I am proud to stand with them in this fight.
