Member of Parliament, Fawziya Haji Adan “I ask the leadership of the country why they’re hellbent on the downfall of their country Somalia & Somalinimo. In 2016, I was discouraged from the seat of the African Union’s Chairperson by President Hassan Sheikh who called for my withdrawal from the race. His choice of chairperson went on to lose. Today 8 years later in 2024, I am told again to withdraw in a place of another preferred candidate from a different foreign country. If I do this, the seat will not return to the region for another 40 years, so I will not step down, I still cannot figure out why Somalia’s leadership is working against me- a Somali national!”
