🎉 BREAKING: The Liberal Democrats have officially added Care Experience as a Protected Characteristic into their manifesto! This means recognising the unique challenges faced by those for whom the state had legal responsibility as children. 🌟 A huge thank you to Ed Davey for his support and understanding. When me and Chris Wild met with Ed, he shared his personal experiences of losing his parents and being a carer for his son. It was heartbreaking. He acknowledged the difference having family support can make, a luxury many care-experienced individuals don’t have. We are proud to see the Lib Dems leading the way, and we urge all political parties to follow suit. Let's also celebrate the 92 councils that have already passed motions to Treat Care Experience as if it were a protected characteristic until it becomes legislation.
