ETHIOPIA — 🚨 Nine armed groups in Ethiopia have reportedly formed a united resistance front, according to comments by TPLF Chairman and Tigray regional leader Debretsion during a brief interview with local journalists. Although details about the reported “𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗿𝗲𝘁 (ጥምረት),” or the alliance of forces, remain unclear at this early stage, it is believed to involve the TPLF, Amhara Fano, the OLA, and Afar’s Uguugumo, among others. It remains unclear whether the disclosure was a deliberate leak or a formal announcement. Nevertheless, it could signal a significant development in Ethiopia’s political and security landscape, amid growing calls for an end to Abiy Ahmed’s incompetent leadership.

Young men are being picked up from the streets and taken to military trainings against their will, leaving devastated families to watch their sons disappear into a war they never volunteered to fight. ETHIOPIA — ⚡️ This is the Amhara Fano rebel force that once helped save Abiy Ahmed’s government from being overthrown by Tigray forces during the 2020–2022 Tigray War. Abiy won their support when he needed it most, only to turn against them once the Tigray war was over. Today, they are fighting to overthrow him. Combined with the growing number of armed insurgencies that Abiy’s own Oromo-centric policies have helped create domestically, along with an increasingly militarized foreign policy he followed toward #Eritrea and #Sudan, Ethiopia is entering an increasingly dangerous and destructive chapter. The political crisis, therefore, will continue until there is a fundamental change in leadership. The world should prepare for a post-Abiy Ahmed Ethiopia. I genuinely feel sorry for the Ethiopian people. What crime did ordinary Ethiopians commit to deserve this person as their leader? Honestly, you’re lucky most of the world doesn’t understand Amharic, because if they did, they’d probably need a moment of silence after hearing what comes out of this man’s mouth every day. Imagine translating this speeches word for word for the rest of the world. The international community wouldn’t know whether to issue a diplomatic statement, call a psychiatrist, or simply ask, “Are you guys okay over there?” At least the language barrier is giving Ethiopia a little diplomatic cover ... SAUDI ARABIA ― 😭The ethnic violence and hatred among some Ethiopian ethnic communities has apparently crossed borders, following migrants thousands of kilometres from #Ethiopia into the deserts of #SaudiArabia. Even places where people fled hoping to escape violence and poverty are now being dragged into the nightmare. The darker feud now emerge between "𝐀𝐫𝐬𝐢 𝐎𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨" and "𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐎𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨" communities, who live as immigrants in Saudi Arabia, have reached a terrifying level. According to social media reports circulating on TikTok, more than seven migrants from the Arsi and Wello Oromo communities were killed each other in an ISIS-style knife attack. The horrifying act of decapitation was streamed live on TikTok where victims were reportedly forced to chant “Arsi King” by the Arsi group and “Wello King” by the Wello group before being killed. Then comes 𝐋𝐭. 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐞, who recently denied ever being a POW in Eritrea and challenged his captors to come forward with evidence. 🫣 Apparently, the evidence does not have to come from his former captors. 𝐌𝐚𝐣. 𝐆𝐞𝐧. 𝐀𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐚 𝐆𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐚, himself a former Eritrean POW currently serving as a senior government official in Abiy Ahmed's administration, has already publicly recounted the story behind how he got the nick name "Bacha" while in captivity and how he adopted it as his first name later. "Atinkut" Debele was his original name, allegedly. According to Abadula, “Atinkut” was sick for an extended period while in captivity. After recovering, he volunteered for a less menial task, such as preparing powdered milk for his fellow prisoners. He apparently added so much water that he ruined the mixture. A fellow POW then mocked him with, “አንበጨበጨከው (Anbechebechkew)”, essentially telling him he had watered it down beyond recognition. Since then, the prisoners started calling him with the nickname “Bacha” in short. And just like that, "Atinkut" became Bacha and he eventually adopted that nickname as his first name after being released from captivity in 1991. Today, the same Bacha Debele got a promotion to Lieutenant General rank and now serving as #Ethiopia's ambassador to #Kenya. So, General, why go looking for evidence from the Eritrean captors when one of the prisoners who was there has already told the story?

After years of frustration, insecurity, and a lack of meaningful opportunities, growing numbers of Afar youth are choosing to organize rather than continue searching for a better future elsewhere.
