🙏🏿 this is the stuff of beautiful dreams really🙏🏿 I first met MamLetta almost 30yrs ago officially at a dinner to launch a place they called “Back of the Moon” here in Jozi. All the legends were there, I mean all of them, and little me of course. I was always in rooms I was too small to be in but felt so at home there. I chased her down a passage and sang “Tristeza”, telling her it was my favourite of her songs. She was shocked that I not only knew her music, but that I know that song in particular. She has an astounding discography and her kindness and gentle mentorship have carried me through the 30 sum years I have been in this business. She influenced everyone. If you listen to the opening of Mamani you might hear what you would later hear in the voice of Busi Mhlongo. She is an integral part of the South African voice and technique. #LettaMbulu

Dear friends of our band I am devastated to share the heartbreaking news that our beloved percussionist Thabang Tabane has passed away earlier today. This is an unimaginable loss, and we are all struggling to process it. Thabang was not only an incredible musician, but also a dear friend, a source of inspiration, and a vital part of our music as a band. His presence, energy, and spirit will be deeply missed, both on and off the stage. He leaves behind his children💐 And the Malombo drums lay silent.

Rest in peace Thabang. You were a gentle and giving genius. You were a joy to be with and you had such beautiful wisdom about this life thing. Your drums centered us and healed wounds unseen.
