Over 30 children were rushed to Edo specialist hospital in Benin city today after they were tear-gassed by men of the Edo state police force at ogbe stadium Benin city during children's day celebration. One child is currently at the ICU. The same Nigerian police force who cannot rescue our children from bandits is throwing tear gas at the ones celebrating. Nigeria is indeed a crime scene.😓

It is legally wrong to tell final year medical students to pay 7th year school fees for a 6 years course. The management of the college of medicine university of Nigeria Nsukka should do better, you have not only delayed the dreams of these medical students but also put extra financial burden on their parents and now you want them to pay an extra school fee for a delay that isn't their fault? A consultant orthopaedic surgeon came to review a patient in my facility and said something casually to a general surgeon who came to review another patient. "I don't understand what is going on, this generation of young doctors are no longer interested in the art of medicine, it wasn't like this during our time" I think I have an answer now " A doctor/healthcare workers burdened with survival cannot fully devote themselves to healing" Medicine is a career path with ethics and should not be solely treated as a call to serve humanity on an empty stomach. We are not wiser than our founding fathers.
