If respect for faith is the principle, then many believe that principle should apply equally, regardless of who is involved. Ultimately, the discussion is about whether public figures, political parties, filmmakers, and everyone should follow the same standards of religious sentiments? But, nationalist mockery of Hinduism is acceptable. Anti nationalist mockery of Hinduism is not. Hinduism for BJP is a fancy dress competition. It is a circus act. It is performative activism. It is a SHOW OFF. THEY do not care about Hindu sentiments. They do not care about how the portrayal of Hindu gods will look like for them. Everything is about a big performance. When the same thing was done in the movie PK by Amir Khan, there the IT cell would create a uproar and object. But here, at a procession for the national president Nitin Nabin, everything is alright because nationalist mockery of Hindu Gods is acceptable but anti nationalist mockery of Hindu Gods is not.
