As the Patrick Kane signing as sunk in more as the day has gone on, I keep thinking of him watching the tribute video his first game back in Chicago with Detroit. He was going through it and it was written all over his face. Typically you get the smile and wave, maybe wipe a tear, but he was torn up. He snapped out of it after the first lap when he finally just took it all in. Truly believe if it was always up to him, he would've never left. Rebuild and all. Patrick Kane is Chicago, man. Welcome home.

This was Soldier Field on Saturday. Game had been over for five minutes. Nobody rushing out to beat traffic. Nobody rushing to get to the bar. Everyone just taking in the moment and reflecting on what we just witnessed. This city is special, and so is this team. 🐻⬇️

You don't have to like Tim Anderson. You can post the Ramirez meme to death. You don't have to come to the game on September 17th. Just do me a favor, let the people who want to give him his flowers in retirement do just that. For a lot of us, Tim was the first glance of hope in a dead era of White Sox baseball. One of the rare prospects Kenny Williams drafted in the first round who didn't feel like a reach from the start. We remember the center field discussion, we remember him wearing #12, we remember an immediate contributor in the lineup, and we remember a guy who took a team friendly deal after a 2.3 WAR rookie season. We also remember a guy who went above and beyond for the community, which isn't a requirement contrary to popular belief. TA spent nearly 900 games in a White Sox uniform, knocked 1k+ hits, won a batting title, and was the straw that stirred the drink on that 2021 team alongside Jose Abreu. We all know how it ended, but we love what the guy did for the team/community anyway. Let us, and more importantly Tim, have one night to celebrate it. He gave us plenty to celebrate about in eight seasons.
