It's an indictment against the festivals, against the mainstream media, against the powers that be. But this is not a criticism towards the film's creators. If they hadn't submitted the film to the competition, the award wouldn't have been given to a Palestinian film. The genocide just wouldn't have been mentioned in the programme at all.

He resides in the terror outpost near Taybeh, set up by Neriya Ben Pazi, a notorious settler leader, sanctioned by the UK and EU for violence against Palestinians. Neriya's settlers walk with the sheep from their outpost to the Palestinian houses every single day. Not because they need to graze there, there is plenty of grazing land around. They come in order to apply psychological pressure on the Palestinians, to force them to leave. Sometimes they just hang out with their sheep. Sometimes they attack. A few days before I filmed this video, one of these shepherds opened the water tankers of the Palestinians, wasting the scarce water resources. The morning after I filmed this video, this exact "shepherd" returned and threw a rock at me and Adele when he saw we weren't filming. Two days after I filmed this video, the settlers from his outpost invaded the community at night, threw rocks and pepper sprayed the activists. This is all happening near the village of Taybeh, which has been under constant settler attack for several months. Houses and fields were set on fire, people have been attacked, livestock stolen. Look up "Taybeh settler attack" to see dozens of videos. Bottom line: this "shepherd" is a part of a well-coordinated campaign of ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the West Bank. THIS HAPPENED TODAY: Settlers assaulted a car carrying a delegation from the village of Yatma, south of Nablus, on its way to offer condolences to the families of Omar Naasan and Khalil Abu Alia, who were killed on Wednesday during a raid on al-Mughyier. The car was attacked on the only road leading to the village, which passes through the settler-infested Marj Siya Plain, which has become the site of near-daily settler attacks in recent months. The assailants severely beat the passengers with stones and clubs, and pepper-sprayed them, causing injuries to their heads, faces, and limbs. Residents who rushed to defend the passengers managed to bring them to safety but were unable to prevent the settlers from stealing the vehicle. The settlers then attacked an ambulance that had come to assist the wounded, smashing one of its windows and injuring a medic, who sustained a minor arm injury. The men, who were reportedly all in their 50s and 60s, were evacuated to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah for treatment. In response, soldiers fired tear gas at residents confronting the settlers and then into the village as they pushed residents farther and farther into the built-up area, allowing the settlers to advance. The army then established a checkpoint next to the village's boys' school and closed the village entrance, which remains shut.
