Leisure is the basis of all human culture. Most have forgotten what leisure actually is — it's not the absence of work or activity, but the presence of depth. Catholic philosopher Josef Pieper: "Leisure, it must be remembered, is not a Sunday afternoon idyll. It is the preserve of freedom, of education and culture, and of that undiminished humanity which views the world as a whole."
