If you want to be a consistent punter, it begins and ends with the drop. Try the Punter’s Mile: walk around the track trying to make every drop pop back to you at 11 o clock. -maintain consistent speed -keep the drop at 11 -drop the ball so it pops back up to you (no flipping over itself) The combination of consistent walking steps, correct alignment, and a loose arm will start to develop the muscle memory you need for in-game consistency and power. It works every time. There is nothing that will help punters (especially from the soccer field) build consistency and confidence more than this drill right here. Begin by punting line drives for distance and adding hangtime becomes easy. OneOnOne Kicking Camps🏈

If you want more power and speed in your punts… It’s all in the hips. Check out this demo w/ myself and Las Vegas Raiders punter AJ Cole To create power through the ball, our hips have to swivel up and through. In coming weeks, I’ll be posting more about generating power. Follow along to start adding some distance and hang.

Feat. UNLV’s Marshall Nichols TIP: Tension within a punting motion reduces power. We want to have a specific “mold” position, but for most guys, feeling loose with their upper body helps move their drop naturally down the field. If you’re having an issue with nose-up drops, try staying loose with the upper body! OneOnOne Kicking Camps🏈
