Punting into the wind is hard, so let’s make it simple 👇 1)nose down. Have to control the nose of the ball so it can cut through the air and still give you good distance 2) short step. So essential, especially given that you’ll be dropping the ball lower. You have to still create time for your body to come up through. 3) lower drop table. You have to decrease the amount of time the ball is in the air. Lowering the drop table (in tandem w/ tip 2 does that). 4) hip drive. you never want to collapse underneath the ball… or you’ll actually hit it straight up. Driving your hips through creates the line drive feeling while you can keep connection w your body. Now go survive some 25mph+ gusts. OneOnOne Kicking Camps🏈

Try the Punter’s Mile: walk around the track trying to make every drop pop back to you at 11 o clock. -maintain consistent speed -keep the drop at 11 -drop the ball so it pops back up to you (no flipping over itself) The combination of consistent walking steps, correct alignment, and a loose arm will start to develop the muscle memory you need for in-game consistency and power. Feat. UNLV’s Marshall Nichols TIP: Tension within a punting motion reduces power. We want to have a specific “mold” position, but for most guys, feeling loose with their upper body helps move their drop naturally down the field. If you’re having an issue with nose-up drops, try staying loose with the upper body! OneOnOne Kicking Camps🏈
