A day I’ll never forget. My first MLB home run. Bottom of the 8th. Tie game. Over 34,000 at PNC. Down 0-2 before winning a 10-pitch battle & sending one into the sea of Pirates Faithful. The curtain call, Greg Brown’s legendary call, shaving cream Pie, & a postgame interview with Dan Potash who I now get to call a colleague all made for an unforgettable night. More than anything, that was the night I fell in love with Pittsburgh. I truly believe that’s when “The Fort” was born. Thank you, Pirates fans, for embracing me then and continuing to do so today. There’s no place like Pittsburgh aka Home.
