Indiana could've easily won game 4 after Shaq fouled out, and we all know what happened next. Kobe earned that ring despite how you interpret the box score. At the end of the day, Kobe still has five championships that the Lakers wouldn't have won without him. The proof in that statement lies in the fact that when Kobe had a lesser role in 97, 98, & 99, they were gentlemen swept, swept, and swept before even making the finals. The minute Kobe's role increased, they rattled off three straight championships. That's not a coincidence...

If you want to know why I have Kobe above MJ, this is the main reason. I agree with Iverson, it is a conspiracy. The league saw him, Vince Carter, Kobe, T-Mac, Grant Hill, and Penny Hardaway all get drafted and they all had the potential to score 30 ppg. I believe the league allowed zone defense to try and keep MJ's legacy as bright as possible. And it worked. The Jordan brand was started in 1997. Today it's worth 10 billion dollars...

In 2009, The Sporting News polled 107 Hall Of Famers, and they overwhelmingly picked Kobe Bryant as the best player in the league. Kobe had almost twice as many 1st place votes as LeBron James ♾

When I say that Kobe won back to back without a top 75 player, this is what I'm talking about. This wasn't Earvin playing with Kareem or vice versa. This wasn't MJ playing with Pippen or Bron playing with Wade, Bosh, Irving, or Anthony Davis. Pau was a good dude but those rings were Kobe's and that 10 ring should be held up as one of, if not the greatest of all time...
