I hate Poland. Ever since I moved here, my life has gotten so much worse. I pay less than 10% tax. People leave racks of On shoes out with a sign: "Just try them." My mom walks home alone at night in Warsaw and doesn't even call me anymore. I wear a Rolex here without thinking twice. My laptop got stolen in Berlin. I started a 25-person company in 3 weeks. In Germany, I'd probably still be waiting for a notary appointment. Poland has made life way too easy.

One thing I love about Poland: People still use common sense. A security guard told me I couldn't park there... then looked around, saw it was Sunday, the lot was empty, and said: "You're only here for 30 minutes? Go ahead." Sometimes a little flexibility goes a long way.

As a German-Polish guy, I grew up hearing the same joke: "Watch out, Polish people steal cars." Then I left my car unlocked with the keys inside overnight in Warsaw. Nothing happened. Maybe Poland has changed more than the stereotype has.
