Where do I even begin with this event? As a Back to the Future superfan, ready to be overly critical about every single thing I could be, I was absolutely blown away by everything Universal Studios Hollywood pulled off with Fan Fest Nights! Universal Studios Hollywood What an accomplishment this event is. From Star Trek to Dungeons and Dragons — and all the way to Back to the Future — this event has a little something for everyone. Almost all ride wait times were below 15 minutes today. I couldn’t imagine a better way to experience the park, but Back to the Future absolutely stole the show for me! From the characters to being in the actual place where the movie was filmed, I don’t think a theme park has ever built an attraction in the exact location the movie it’s based on was filmed. (The only exception I can think of is the Harry Potter tour at Leavesden.) That alone makes this experience so special. Over the course of the night, scenes from the first film play out right in front of your eyes. From Marty arriving, to introducing Lorraine to George, to the Enchantment Under the Sea dance, and even the famous lightning strike at the clock tower — this event had it all! You can interact with the characters: Principal Strickland can write you a detention slip, and sometimes George might even ask you to take a note to Lorraine. It’s incredible to watch their story unfold. Universal — thank you for bringing Back to the Future back in such a big way! You made this superfan very happy. I’ll never forget walking into Hill Valley with “Mr. Sandman” playing. It was incredible.
