This is perhaps the clearest audio of flight 175 barreling down and eventually into the south tower. Those 2 young men, as well as millions of others who were rather in manhattan that day or watching events unfold live, knew in that instance that this was no longer an accident, and this was indeed an attack on America and it’s people.

A survivor from the 72nd floor of the north tower was giving an interview to local abc7 news, with a crowd of people listening into his unbelievable story of escaping wtc1 .. Moments later, that very same tower he made of out of collapsed mid-interview. I’m sure his life, like millions others, changed that Tuesday morning on 9/11

You know how every few years you’ll see footage that you’ve never seen before on 9/11 and wonder how you’ve never seen it before Well that’s exactly what this is for me Chris York is on a family vacation and most of his footage is on the rooftop of Liberty Court a few blocks away from the World Trade Center In it, you see clear footage of the twin towers about a week before the September 11th attacks. Beautiful day, manhattan looks great. Then there’s a long delay in his camera roll. When it resumes (1 minute mark) the north tower is struck. You can see the earliest first responders at the base of wtc1 - including battalion chief’s Joseph pfiefer While Chris is filming, the South tower is struck, and he recalled later that he could physical feel the blast and the heat of the explosion. In my opinion this is rare footage and perspective 500 feet above the streets and 500 feet below the strikes. Never forget what took place 25 years ago today. Love and respect to those involved, those affected, and our great heroes who saved so many lives. Good bless America and its people.

Clear and up close footage of United Flight 175 headed towards the south tower. A few things jump out. While everyone is deliberating about how a jet could hit the north tower, rather by accident or terrorism, this surely erased all doubt the America was indeed under attack. Secondly, look at how the flight takes a second sharp turn to the left, hitting the side/corner of the tower. Some say that the south tower was close to being missed by flight 175 given the flight path. Apparently this footage was uploaded but set to private 15 years ago, and only relatively recently has it been in limited circulation. What other footage is still out there?

Jet fuel, and possibly burst water pipes, pouring from both of the twin towers. This footage is filmed from the west side of the World Trade Center complex. Very little footage this close shows the towers from this angle. Did you know that there were 5,000 gallon water reserve storage tanks in the 20th, 41st, 75th, and 110th floors in each tower. A water pipe that was ripped out can be seen on cedar street next to the orthodox church.

Chris York’s footage on 9/11 is truly incredible. It’s been recently restored by project Between Two Towers. He’s on the rooftop pool of the Liberty Court tower with his family, 44 stories up. The north tower is struck, he begins filming the entire situation from 500 above the street and 500 feet below the tower strike. But at the 52 second mark, the south tower is struck by flight 175 traveling 550mph. You can feel the blast through this footage. Chris York felt something he hadn’t felt in 40 years, which is when he was on the flight line with B 58’s during his time in the air force in the early 60s. He would feel the thrust, the afterburners, followed by the heat. And that’s exactly what he felt when flight 175 struck the south tower overhead. Truly remarkable footage and vantage point.

This grainy footage filmed on an old pocket device is widely considered to be the only footage filmed in the south tower, showing what it actually looked like for evacuees. You can see he pauses and films towards Liberty street, which I would say is the most haunting street out of any of the perimeters. He then goes through the south tower lobby and towards the escalators leading down towards the underground mall. Very real and some would say rare footage of 9/11.

A young ABC7 reporter, NJ Burkett, was as close to the base of the world trade centers as you could possibly be. He probably felt safe alongside the FDNY outside of the north tower and Marriott Hotel on west side highway. He didn’t particularly like his first take, so we gave it another go, not knowing that this footage would become some of the most infamous footage of the south tower collapsing on 9/11

Cynthia Weil’s footage on 9/11 is particularly distressing. But these brave souls’ stories must be told and remembered. We must never forget what took place almost 25 years ago. As Cynthia zooms in, it looks like what most have said to be a woman in white pants and black shirt waving from the edge of the tower. Fortunately the wind and smoke is blowing above her and to the east, giving her some clean air amongst the rubble 1000 ft in there air. A few stories below her, on the east end of the north tower is a man in black and white who has also found himself a place on the tower to escape the inferno behind and above him, until a piece of debris hits and knocks him off balance. Following this are two more brave souls whose only option was to escape the torture of the smoke and heat. Never forget what happened that day. Respect and love to the victims, their families and the heroes who came together.

29 minutes .. 29 minutes separated the collapse of the south and north tower. After surviving the collapse of wtc2, Battalion Chief Joseph Pfiefer, cameraman Jules Naudet (who happened to be filming a documentary on nyfd and captured some of the only footage of the north tower being hit), and the remaining crews set up command on West and Vessey, which was extremely close to the still standing north tower. Moments later, as the last few men and women escaped onto vessey street, the north tower gave way.

Incredibly close and surreal footage from Liberty street, directly across the street from the South Tower/WTC 4. I would not rush to judge this man’s abnormal reaction to the footage he captured. People act and recall events differently when they’ve witness tragic events and experienced trauma. The farmer’s market tents are abandoned. Random spot fires are spreading on Church street in front of Century 21 retail store. It seems oddly deserted. The collapse of the South tower created a violent blast, shattering his windows and filling his apartment with debris / dust cloud. South Tower remnants rained down to the South and East, directly towards Liberty street and his apartment. Absolutely unbelievable footage.

World Trade Center occupants can be seen exiting south through WTC4, opting to go towards the southeast corner of church and Liberty, rather than directly across Liberty street - which was an incredibly grim scene. You can see the abandoned farmers market tents which happens every Tuesday. Towards the end of the footage you can see how Liberty Street is desolate and sparse atmosphere compared to the active and busy church street evacuation routes.

No one knew that those towers were capable of falling. The NYPD helicopters were reporting that they felt like the steel columns were buckling, but like how most believed that the Titanic was unsinkable, the twin towers were the strongest and best built buildings in the world, and nothing could bring them down. What most also didn’t realize was the raw force of the dust cloud following the collapse of the south tower. Those who outran or covered their faces against the debris bomb most likely saved themselves from years of medical issues, or worse. As it was founded much later that this debris cloud, and ash, which lingered in the area for months, was filled with billions of toxins and harmful particles.
