ASU HC Kenny Dillingham was asked by a reporter today if he is going to Friday night’s #AZHSFB matchup between Basha and Hamilton. This was his response ⬇️ “I don’t know yet, it just depends. I usually don’t attend games (when ASU has) home games. I’m different than a lot of people, I’m about our football team, and it’s a game week, and it’s Friday, and if people that are from this state choose to come to this school then I’ll care about them. That simple. Just like I care about our football team... I will always focus, A, on the player that chose to be here, than B, the player who I want to be here.” 🎥 (Damon Allred/Arizona Sports) ArizonaVarsity.com 🔥PREPS🔥

NAU HC Brian Wright spoke on the challenge of retaining players at the FCS level. Wright said the team conducted its own study and found that only 14% of players who left NAU or the Big Sky conference have moved on to play more snaps or the same number of snaps as they did at their previous school ⬇️ “A lot of guys are leaving, and losing out, and missing out on opportunities, and I think it's a shame, and we’ve got to get a handle on this...” ArizonaVarsity.com 🔥PREPS🔥

Kenny Dillingham said one of the reasons why ASU recruited freshman RB Cardae Mack was because of his abilities as a QB and RB in high school. Dillingham went on to say that he loves recruiting athletes who can play multiple sports, especially basketball. "I love guys who play basketball. Not the shooters, I like guys who get to the hoop, body up a little bit... That's what we look for when we look at other sports: Does the skill set in your other sport translate to football?" New ASU HC Randy Bannett on why Gonzaga played a factor in his decision to leave Saint Mary's. "I kinda felt like, man, I don't know how much more we could do, and with Gonzaga leaving, it's going to be harder to do, not easier to do. You're not going to get Quad 1 games, which in a league like the WCC, you have to get those games... and we were going to lose two (of those games) every year..." "But the biggest factor was ASU. I wanted to be here. It's my dream job... I think you can win championships here." DevilsDigest.com

DevilsDigestTV: I asked Kenny Dillingham if he supports bringing JUCO football back to Arizona. His answer: "Oh yeah, 100% bring it back." "I know from the perspective of bringing football at the Junior College level back, it benefits our colleges, it gives kids more opportunities to play football, it builds camaraderie with more kids, it probably keeps more kids in school because they can continue their dream specifically here. So I'm a big supporter of that." DevilsDigest.com

Now that he's signed a new contract, Kenny Dillingham said the next step for ASU is to get someone in the Valley to make a significant financial contribution to the team. “We need to find one of these really rich people in this city to step up and stroke a check and I'll do everything I can to make you the most famous person in the city. That's really what we need.” DevilsDigest.com

Kenny Dillingham on how he expects Arizona State's in-state golden ticket recruiting initiative to continue to evolve. Dillingham said there will always be people who don't like how ASU recruits the state of Arizona, but he feels the steps ASU is taking are working. "We're in an era where if you don't get an early offer, the school doesn't like you. Well, the reality is an offer isn't what an offer was 10 years ago... instead of saying we're going to offer 19 to 20 freshmen and sophomores and say we were your first, we're saying, no, here are the select few that we know could commit to Arizona State. A real offer. Like an offer, what it's meant to be, and make it unique. " DevilsDigest.com

Arizona State athletic director Graham Rossini said Randy Bennett's team will be competitive in the NIL space, thanks to many people who've stepped up. However, Rossini doesn't believe that NIL should be ASU's biggest selling point. He used examples of players like Jordyn Tyson, Kenzie Brown, and Cole Carlon as athletes who could've gone somewhere for more money but stayed at ASU. "We feel like we've got a number of attributes to recruit athletes to ASU and not just lead with the financial outcome." DevilsDigest.com

After ASU’s win over Arizona on Saturday, multiple players on ASU’s team could be seen wearing shirts that said, “Jesus Won,” similar to the shirts Ohio State has worn this season. Xavier Guillory talked about how faith has had an impact this ASU team. “I think that’s part of the reason why we’ve had a lot of success. We aren’t afraid to express our faith.” Hypamark
