Attention Karnataka people 🚨 Listen to coastal Karnataka railway activist Hanumanth Kamath.See how badly the Kerala lobby in the Palakkad Division neglected and treated coastal Karnataka railway stations. Mangalore stations generated around ₹1,000 crore in revenue for the Palakkad Division about 80% of the division’s total revenue. From that Mangalore revenue, they developed stations across Kerala in the Palakkad Division and carried out doubling and tripling of railway lines within Kerala. Meanwhile, Kannadigas had to beg for the installation of lifts at Mangalore stations. It took them 14 years just to double one kilometre of track in Mangalore. There were also operational biases: trains on the Karnataka and Mumbai routes were often stopped at Mangalore Junction instead of Mangalore Central, while Kerala-bound trains were allowed to stop at Mangalore Central. In a nutshell, the Palakkad Division collected money from Mangalore but worked for Malayalis and Kerala.
