A year ago, I moved away from my comfort zone, away from my friends and loved ones to the UK. This was barely 4years from when I first woke up and told my mum I was moving to Lagos. I moved to the UK not knowing exactly what the chapter would look like, but i trusted the leap and this past year has given me so much back; community, growth, joy, friendship that feels like family. I’ve learnt so much since I made this move. So much about myself and how I approach life in general. I’ve grown in ways i didn’t expect. I see beauty differently, I love more intentionally, I appreciate everything more; the little things, the quiet moments, the people who chose me. I came here at a time I wasn’t feeling my best because I was down mentally, but my girls, my sweet, incredible girlfriends who became my backbone before i even found my footing here, I love you more than words. You turned a new country into a soft place to land. I wouldn’t trade this chapter of my life for anything. 🤭
