Khadra Dahir Cige was one of the most famous Somali female singers of the 1970s. Born in Hargeisa in 1957, she joined the Waaberi music troupe in 1974 and became renowned for her powerful love songs and emotional performances. She was often called “Hooyada Jacaylka” (Mother of Love) and remains a celebrated figure in Somali music. RIP, She passed away in 2022 at the age of 65.
