Gael Monfils, who is retiring at the end of year, says his next career after tennis will be in finance "I have a new chapter coming. Next year. I'll be working in finance. I already signed to work in wealth management in a Swiss company. My next chapter is looking more in an office and working in finance. I will always have a look on tennis because I love the sport, my wife's playing. I don't think next year I will do so much about tennis. Carlos Alcaraz says he’s going to take some long breaks, 1 to 2 months long, & start missing some tournaments because it’s impossible to keep up with the tennis calender, ‘We’re seeing a lot of players getting injured’ “Seeing how tight the calendar is, obviously I don’t want to have this break because of an injury. But in the future, I’m gonna take some breaks... some long breaks. Maybe not 4 months, but 1 month, 2 months… start missing some tournaments because it’s impossible to play them all. Alex Eala was asked about being scheduled to play on a bigger court than Grand Slam Champions at the U.S. Open “They’re saying Grand Slam Champions are playing outside… they’re implying sort of that the U.S. Open is giving you a special treatment…” Alex: “I’m grateful to be on Armstrong and to play on such an incredible court. Aryna Sabalenka was not happy with a question she received during her U.S. Open press conference, ‘Think before you say stuff’ “How are you finding your mood now that the tournament has started? Obviously last week it’s lots of parties and fun and stuff like that..” Aryna: “You guys are like a joke. Parties. Fun. Why would you even say that? Why would you even think about that? Like, what kind of question is that? Just because I posted some activities with brands and you think that I’ve been partying?” “I’m not suggesting you were partying… I’m saying there are a lot of events and things like that. In terms of mental stamina, what’s harder, a 5 set match at a Grand Slam or a day at home with the girls?” Daniil: “Oh my God. They’re both tough 😂. I have to say the day at home with the family, even if sometimes with a daughter mentally can be tough, some days are amazing, at the end of the day, it’s always a nice experience. I have to be honest when you lose a 5 setter, at the end of the day, it’s a very bad experience. 😂😂😂😂 I have one funny story. I don’t like to talk too much about my family. I took her to the practice once on clay. She comes and she’s happy to play tennis. She doesn’t really watch my matches yet. If sometimes I break a racquet, it’s not like every match I throw the racquet 65 times. She’s happy, so she throws the racquet through the whole court. The coach looks at me and she says ‘I don’t know where she got this from…” 😂😂😂😂😂

Aryna Sabalenka was asked about Carlos Alcaraz saying the tennis schedule is too demanding & he’s going to start taking long breaks, ‘If ATP & WTA are not gonna cut the mandatory events, we’ll have to sacrifice points & ranking position to protect our bodies’ “I would love to see changes in the schedule and to cut out the mandatory events and let the players decide what’s better for their health. It’s been super intense. Especially if you play at the level that Carlos is playing, basically very consistent, it’s very tricky for the body. If they’re not gonna cut it, we’ll have to sacrifice points, ranking position, whatever, in order to protect our bodies. I think it would be really helpful from WTA and ATP to kind of ease up a little bit the schedule for us in order to really support our health.” (via US Open Press)

I feel like it’s common courtesy to read up on the sport. Especially the etiquette. It could be a good thing for people to make the sport of tennis popular to their specific audience. But I think it has to be managed a lot better, especially in the situation like in my first round match. Overall there’s huge positives. You want people to continue to grow the sport. Coco Gauff says she believes influencers at tennis tournaments can help grow the sport, but they need to follow the etiquette of the sport, ‘If you’re being invited to a red carpet, you wouldn’t show up in jeans. I think it’s just follow the etiquette of the sport’ “I think it’s great to have a different demographic to the sport. I have no problem with influencers. I’ve met some of them and follow some of them online. Luckily the ones I do follow online do follow the etiquette and know tennis pretty well. Any venue you come to, you have to follow the etiquette towards it. I definitely think, maybe on some of the brands too, maybe to have a sign plastered in the suite.. sometimes it’s their first tennis match and they don’t know. They’ve probably been to basketball games before. I definitely think no flash photography. Try not to talk too loud. Ashe is a very loud court so I’m used to it. Definitely not like mouthing TikTok’s and stuff in the middle of a point 😂. It’s not just for the players but for the viewing experience, for those around. I think it’s cool to have a new demographic and I think it helps grow the sport.
