Members of the Nihang organisation Tarna Dal have begun collecting what they call a "Khalsa Tax" from vehicles on the Chandigarh-Manali highway in Punjab, protesting the entry tax charged by the Himachal Pradesh government on vehicles entering the hill state. The collection drive started on Wednesday at Kiratpur Sahib on the Kullu-Manali route.

A 29-year-old woman, identified as Dimple from Patiala, was allegedly stabbed to death by her Colleague near Bestech Mall in Mohali's Sector 66. The accused, Harvinder Mann alias Harry, later attempted suicide by stabbing himself and remains in critical condition. Police say the forensic team collected evidence & Investigation is underway.

Khalsa Toll "Sarbat Da Bhala," an initiative by a Nihang organization, says it does not want to create divisions in the brotherhood between Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. Vehicles bearing registration numbers from both Punjab and Himachal Pradesh are being stopped to collect the toll. The organization claims that the money collected will be used for the welfare of poor families. It further stated that if the governments of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab fail to find a solution, it will continue collecting the toll permanently in the future.

Signboards inked (blackened) at the Panjab University by SATH Organisation students after Punjabi language was excluded from them. Ashmeet Singh, leader of the organisation, said the university was given two days to rectify the signboards. However, no action was taken by the university, which led the students to blacken the name plates.
