He calls upon Ogun, the god of hunting, thanking him for protection and success. He weaves in stories of legendary hunts from generations past, passing down wisdom that books could never capture. Ijala is more than just words. It's respect. It's gratitude. It's the hunter acknowledging that he and the animal are both part of nature's sacred cycle. Every chant is different, flowing from the hunter's heart and skill, honoring both the courage it took to hunt and the life that was given.
