We're being told Glasgow could be made safer if a police office returns to the St. Enoch Centre. The force was previously given the use of a unit in the mall for a peppercorn rent. The Scottish Police Federation want to see that arrangement return. It follows safety concerns around St. Enoch Square, which in recent months has witnessed serious assaults, broad daylight drug dealing, retail crime and other antisocial behaviour. Our reporter witnessed a drug deal in the 15 minutes he was at the Square to interview the SPF's General Secretary. David Kennedy was based at the St. Enoch Centre when he was an officer. Police Scotland say they use every tool at their disposal to address disorder in the city centre.

For the second time in a week, protestors have taken to the streets of the Gorbals. Demonstrators said they had gathered over concerns for the safety of women, and the impact of immigration on the housing crisis. Their rally was held outside the office of the New Gorbals Housing Association, which closed for the day. Some in attendance claimed nearly all new housing in the area is being allocated to people new to Scotland. One resident told us Glasgow's changing demographics have directly impacted her family.

An East Renfrewshire man who attacked two men on-board a Glasgow train has been found guilty of Attempted Murder. Thomas Craig was intoxicated on a Queen Street service to Perth in February last year when he hit the victim twice over the head with a glass bottle. The victim’s friend tried to intervene but was attacked himself when the 48-year-old thrust the broken neck of the glass bottle into his chest. He suffered a collapsed lung, and a severed artery which resulted in him losing around 15% of his blood. Craig will receive his sentence next month. Footage courtesy of British Transport Police.

It's day one of a police dispersal zone aimed at cracking down on anti-social behaviour in Glasgow city centre. St Vincent Place, Glasgow Central, St Enoch Square and Union Street will all be included in the temporary zone. Officers will be able to order groups of two or more away from an area. They'll then banned from returning for 24 hours. Superintendent Jackie Dunbar told us how more police on the ground will benefit the city centre.

Reform UK Scotland say Nicola Sturgeon allegedly moving to England is proof of an overly-complex tax system north of the border. The party are calling on the SNP to scrap extra tax bands to align with England. Leader Malcolm Offord used First Minister's Questions to warn high tax is driving away those who contribute the most, using the example of the former FM. Minimum alcohol pricing rises in Scotland by 30% today - to 65p. The 15p increase was agreed by politicians back in April. It now means the average cost of a bottle of cider will cost double than south of the border. It comes after last month new figures revealed drink-related deaths were at a 15-year high in the country. Alcohol Focus Scotland Chief Executive, Alison Douglas says the rate could have been much higher if MUP wasn't in place.

One of Glasgow's more confusing icons will soon disappear from Partick - the infamous Hot Doughnut sign. For over a decade the slightly terrifying mascot has loomed over Dumbarton Road, proving a perennial trender online and starring in its own merchandise line. But the grinning human-doughnut hybrid is being retired as the business' owner Sylwia Knaak moves into wholesale. She's giving fans - who tell her the sign belongs in Kelvingrove Museum - the chance to get their photo taken with the eponymous Hot Doughnut when it comes down a week on Saturday. Sylwia also gave us a sneak peek at one of the discarded designs... which may have proven even hotter.

Here's the exchange Douglas Ross and Parliamentary Business Minister Jamie Hepburn had before an alleged confrontation between the pair. The pair clashed in the chamber over the scheduling of a summit to discuss the impact of urban seagulls. Mr Hepburn has since said he used "a few choice words I shouldn't have" and admitted putting his hand on Mr Ross' shoulder. The SNP MSP said he is sorry for doing so but refused to answer questions on whether he'd offered the First Minister his resignation. The former Scottish Conservative leader has said he will be reporting the incident to police.

"They basically took over the city... all in a good way." Boston may be famed for its beer culture, but it's needing to call in reinforcement to deal with the Tartan Army. Scotland fans have been partying in the Massachusetts capital since arriving for the World Cup, literally drinking some bars dry. The brewer behind the city's iconic beer Samuel Adams saw its Boston Taproom run out of the lager over the weekend. From Thursday to Sunday the Tartan Army drank four times as much Boston Lager as it normally sells during a typical four-day holiday stretch like the Fourth of July. The company had to schedule an emergency delivery on Saturday morning to keep up.
