Dapo Abiodun has officially commissioned the 5.2km Iworo–Ogbogbo–Igbeba Road in Ijebu North-East, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to grassroots development and improved connectivity across Ogun State. The newly completed Iworo Ogbogbo Igbeba road is expected to significantly boost economic activities in the area, especially for farmers who rely on smooth access to transport their produce to nearby markets. The governor noted that the road links Ijebu North-East to Ijebu-Ode, serving as a strategic extension of previously completed infrastructure within Ijebuland. Speaking at the commissioning, Abiodun assured residents that two additional road projects would be delivered in the local government before the end of the year. He also promised to prioritise the Central Mosque–Ilese link to the Benin–Sagamu Expressway, responding directly to appeals from community leaders. According to the governor, the transformation of road infrastructure in Ijebu-Ode and its environs has already begun attracting transport operators and private investors who previously avoided the area due to poor road conditions. With reinforced concrete drainage systems installed for durability, the project reflects what he described as “intentional infrastructural emancipation” for the region. Community leaders, including traditional rulers and government officials present at the event, commended the administration for fulfilling campaign promises and enhancing commercial access to farmlands and residential communities. With improved mobility, stronger local commerce, and renewed investor confidence, residents are optimistic about what lies ahead. Is the Iworo Ogbogbo Igbeba road the beginning of even greater development for Ijebu North-East?
