As we were celebrating my graduation last Wednesday, around midnight I received a heartbreaking call from my uncle informing me that our 106 year old great grandmother, Igness, had passed away after battling illness for nearly two years. On Thursday morning, we travelled to Monkey Bay, where she was laid to rest on Saturday. She leaves behind two sons in their 80s, 22 grandchildren, and 64 great-grandchildren. She lived a remarkable life, free from scandal and full of dignity. Even in her final years, she remained a strong and admired woman who left a lasting legacy for our family. Although our graduation celebrations were cut short, we found comfort in celebrating a life well lived.
